About Us – Our Approach
The Shanti Mission Harmony Centres are schools for the soul which means that they are centres of study in respect of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual good health.
The primary role of The Harmony Centre is to teach and demonstrate the role of our spirit in creating good health. Through understanding that we have to look after our spirit as well as our physical body, we can lead healthier, happier and more peaceful lives and often make astounding recovery from acute and chronic health problems and serious, stressful life events.
The concept that we have an energy field is now widely discussed but not yet universally understood despite growing research and anecdotal evidence of its role in wellness. Pain (physical as well as mental) as well as stress are held in our energy field, and we help people learn how to remove or minimize it.
Shanti Mission is an approach to spiritual development that is based upon the teachings of Shakti Durga. This work has been influenced by the great scriptures of India such as the Vedas, the Upanishads, and the various writings of the Shakti traditions. It is also interwoven with Western spiritual philosophy, in particular Kabalistic and esoteric Christian thought. The richness of yoga (science of Divine union) and the Guru tradition permeate the experiential approach to self-realization which we offer.
At The Harmony Centre we honour all faiths and welcome people from all traditions, races and beliefs. We never try to change your religion or spiritual beliefs, but offer you deep insight into the universality that underlies all of the Great teachings. Unity of Divine experience sits entirely comfortably with diversity of approach: all roads lead to the same Supreme place!
About Shakti Durga
Shakti means spiritual power or energy, and Durga means Divine Mother.
Former barrister Kim Fraser, now Guru Shakti Durga, is a multi-faith teacher of energetic healing who keeps things simple, practical and grounded. Her presentation style is clear, amusing, insightful and leaves the listener with a sense of hope and personal wellbeing. She has a knack of imparting complex concepts in simple, easy to understand terms that are of broad appeal. All of her seminars and centres run by donation.
The Harmony Centre’s seminars, meditation classes and community healing clinic are funded by donation.
This allows us to make our services, teachings and community healing sessions available to all people regardless of financial circumstances.
We welcome the contributions of all those who support our work, and further develop their own karmic grace in the process (the three pillars of progress being giving, receiving and service).
You may choose to make either a one-off donation, or to become a Friend of the Harmony Centre and give a reoccurring amount of your choosing.

What is Friends of the Harmony Centres?
Friends of the Harmony Centres is an initiative designed to enable the work of Shakti Durga and Shanti Mission Harmony Centres in the world. It entails the regular giving of financial support, not for attendance at seminars or satsangs but as a selfless act of generosity and to support the growth of others. It is open to anyone who appreciates the value that the training programs, seminars, meditations, IYS therapy and Shanti Mission brings to individual lives and the flow on effects to family and community. People who come through these programs become empowered in their lives and are igniting their spirits. Many people who have not had the opportunity to benefit from a loving multi-faith spiritual community before can do so because of the loyalty and generosity of our Friends.
